"GREEN RIVER" - Matted Print

\"GREEN RIVER\" - Matted Print

***As seen on CBS's "The Good Wife" (2011-12) and in the Chicago Tribune (12/11/11).***

*NOTE* This is my most popular limited edition print and it is approaching retirement with only about 20 left in the 12x9" size.

This huge 48x36" painting depicts Upper Wacker Drive and the Chicago River in the late afternoon. It is a scene from the Purple Line CTA when the lights have just come on, yet there is still daylight - a beautiful time of day to appreciate the skyscrapers and famous architecture.

Some of the buildings included in this view are the RR Donnelley Building, the Leo Burnett Building, Hotel 71, Marina City, and the former Traffic Court Building.

The painting is titled "Green River" for two reasons: first because Wacker Drive is kind of the Wall Street of Chicago, and secondly because we ceremoniously die the river green on St. Patrick's Day.

The original painting was on display at the Skokie Public Library and is an award winner.

"Green River" is now available as a 12x9" giclee print. This print includes a mat pre-cut to fit a 20x16" frame in soft greyish beige as shown.

Giclée printing is currently the highest quality standard for printing single or limited edition prints on paper or canvas. The term "giclée" (pronounced "ZHEE-CLAY") is a French word meaning "to spray." Giclée prints are created by spraying millions of droplets of ink onto your choice of fine art substrates.

Unlike lithographs and serigraphs, giclée prints have undergone extensive third party fade testing. While the predicted display life depends on many variables, giclée prints made with wide-gamut pigmented inks are estimated to last over 80 years without noticeable fade.

High grade, smooth finish paper is used for prints, picking up all the detail of the original canvas. Only 100 are produced in this series. Each paper print is signed by me in pencil in the lower left-hand corner with title in middle and edition number in the right. My limited edition prints are imaged and printed by Osio Brown Editions.
